Nigeria
Nigeria, located in Western Africa, is officially known as the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It stands as the most populous country in Africa and the 8th most populous nation in the world. It took part in the commencement of, what was formerly known as, the Organization for African Unity and now the African Union. Nigeria has been a significant player, since the 1970s, in the global oil industry. Nigeria has been a member of Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries OPEC since July 1971. Nigeria has a huge variety of insufficiently utilized natural resources such as: natural gas, coal, bauxite, tantalite, gold, tin, iron ore, limestone, niobium, lead and zinc. |
